Dear Expectant Mother,

Hello! I’m Alissa from California. I’m beyond excited to be starting my journey to parenthood. I’ve lived a life full of experiences and I’ve had decades to understand myself and gain valuable perspectives on different ways of life. I always assumed I would build my family in the traditional way, but growing my family through open adoption has become my chosen path.

I spent over a year learning about adoption and what it means to build a family this way. I’ve openly discussed adoption with my family and friends, and have even relocated to be closer to them, knowing I would appreciate their support once the time comes.

Simply put – I’m ready! I’m ready to welcome your child into my life with warm and open arms. I’m ready to fill my new home with their love and laughter and I would love for you to always be a part of your child’s life in whatever way you wish.

I truly hope to have the chance to get to know one another. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for considering me as a hopeful adoptive mom and for the opportunity to share a bit about myself. No matter the outcome, I have the deepest respect for you as you make this courageous choice for your child.

About Me - Adventures & Memories

I’m looking forward to sharing all the experiences I’ve enjoyed over my lifetime. I find fulfillment in the experience itself and making memories is what I love most.

I look forward to the new experiences and memories that will be special to me and my child. Their first smell of nature, playing dress up in clothes twice their size, cheering them on at their first sporting activity, teaching them how to cook, creating holiday traditions, and so much more.

Travel adventures await! My new home is close enough to drive to many fun adventures, including mountains, lakes, and the ocean. I have been grateful to have had the opportunity to travel on worldly adventures, and I’m excited to share the travel bug with my child.

A Few of My Favs
  • Holiday: Christmas
  • Seasons: Spring and summer
  • Christmas tree: Full and fluffy
  • Frozen yogurt topping: Gummy bears
  • Breakfast item: Bacon
  • Travel spot: San Diego
  • Hobby: Working on home renovation projects. I’ve fully remodeled two homes and did all the construction work myself. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty, and I’ve learned the hard way at times, but I never give up.
My Home and Community

I love living in California! A big part of my motherhood preparation was relocating to a desirable area. My new home is family-focused, with nearby parks, a spacious backyard to play in, and friends and family very close by. My community is consistently rated outstanding for raising families, and the schools are top-rated in California.

I’ve always been independent and driven, and I thrive on equal parts structure and creativity.
I like to create good, steady routines, but I also value staying flexible enough to ensure I don’t miss those little spontaneous moments in life. Those moments that I know will bring so much love and joy to me and my child.

My Career

I’m happy to have found a secure job with a tight-knit, family-oriented company. I have an in-office and work-from-home schedule, which will allow me to be flexible while navigating all the joys and responsibilities of single mom life.

My Values

The values I hope to share with my child are respect, independence, humility, adaptability, resilience, and the importance of spending time together (building memories). I believe these core values will help develop strong character and the ability to overcome any challenge in life.

Family and Friends

I love spending time with family and friends and cherish the time we have making memories together. They make up the core of my heart.

My mom and brother are constants in my life and I’m extremely close to my extended family and friends. I’m grateful to have this strong “village” in my life and I can’t wait for every one of them to bring so much unique character, joy and support to my child’s life.

My mom is beside herself with excitement and is looking forward to making meatballs and pasta, blowing bubbles, and will forever be smothering her grandchild with kisses and hugs.

My brother and I are two peas in a pod. We are the biggest goofballs together. He is a master of Monopoly and will one day be a great pickleball coach to my child. I have watched him grow as a stepfather and see so much of our dad’s patience in him. I know he will be a great role model and source of advice for my child.

My dad is no longer with us, but just as he taught my brother and I how to ski, play baseball, use a hammer, and so much more, I to will pass these treasured skills down to my child.
