Jay and Joe

Dear Expectant Mother,

Hello! We are Jay and Joe!

We met at a friend’s party. We connected, but neither of us were ready for a relationship. A few months later we agreed to a date and, while enjoying burritos in the Mission district of San Francisco, discovered how complementary our wants and needs were. These days we work from home and spend a lot of time with family, friends, and community. We love going to parks and spending time in our backyard.

We hope you choose us to adopt your child. We seek to raise kids, but have encountered difficulties. We are so excited to adopt! Everyone in our life is ready for us to be parents and so are we. Whether or not you choose us, we hope you enjoy learning about us!

Meet Jay by Joe

Jay is my rock. She is grounded, strong, yet a calm force that I can latch on to. Jay makes me laugh more than most and has a great sense of adventure. When we planned our honeymoon in Europe, Jay knew she wanted part of the trip to be a tour of unique churches in France. I’ll never forget the chapel on the beach dedicated to the saints of the sea. For all the fun, though, Jay takes care of the business in our life, while I manage our household. I am so excited to watch her become a mother.

Jay's Career

Jay works for an organization that focuses on creating great communities around the world. Jay is a Human Resources professional at a SF based global education company that was founded in SF.

  • Jay played on two different Roller Derby Teams in the bay area for 3 years.
  • Jay only took up crocheting 2 years ago and loves to make things for family and friends.
  • Jay has learned how to bake gluten free and vegan goodies for loved ones.
  • Jay loves reading bedtime stories to her nephew Jason and looks forward to reading stories like Grumpy Monkey to her children.
Meet Joe by Jay

Joe is my inspiration. He is loving, passionate, charming and keeps me young. It has been the most spectacular journey being Joe’s partner and seeing how we work so well together. I knew Joe was the one for me when he said he wanted children, after that everything else just clicked. When I met his amazing family that was it. Seeing Joe with our nephew Jason is such a joy and I can see that he will make a great dad. His light and playfulness brings a smile to my face. Joe’s love has supported and healed me in ways I will never fully understand. I look forward to our future as parents and the adventure that will bring.

Joe's Career

Joe works at one of the oldest local religious communities as a program and administrative assistant. Joe is positioned to decrease his work load once we have children.

Did You Know?
  • Joe loves baseball and listens to every game of the San Francisco Giants, win or lose.
  • Joe loved visiting playgrounds around the Bay Area as a child and looks forward to doing the same with his kids!
  • Joe is a 4th generation San Franciscan and he is excited to raise the 5th generation.
  • Every spring Joe cleans up the backyard so we can play in it all summer (if it’s not foggy!)
Our Home in San Francisco, California

SF is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Like most folks here, we live on a steep hill with gorgeous views in all directions. We are surrounded by numerous parks, playgrounds, schools, community places, and more. We are fortunate to both work here and have family nearby who are itching to be grandparents. We love spending time with our friends at home, around town, and at our church. We are excited to raise the next generation of San Francisco!

Our Faith

We belong to the Unitarian Universalist church. We know, it’s a mouthful. The beauty of our faith is that we see that everyone is on the same journey; to find their own truth and meaning. With guidance from all of history’s prophets, we work to make this a just and free world. Even your child, who we plan to raise our kids UU, will be free to choose their own beliefs.

Family & Friends

The best thing about our community is how big it is! We have so much family we barely know what to do with it. Joe’s mom, step-mom, and step-dad live here in SF, along with numerous friends of ours, all of whom we visit or host regularly. Beyond the city, we have siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles all over the Bay Area. Jay’s best friend and aunt, Ellon, lives in Nevada, but hopes to move closer soon to be with family. We also are deeply involved in the local Unitarian Universalist community.

Our large community of loved ones includes family, friends, UUs, professional colleagues, teammates and more. They support us and we support them. Joe’s mom and step-dad are especially generous and are very excited to be grandparents.
