Kruthika & Vivek

Dear Expectant Mother,

Hi! We are Kruthika & Vivek plus our daughter, Mira, and our dog, Sorbet. Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read our profile!

We are a family of four (mom, dad, daughter, and pup) and hope to grow to a five-member household that will complete our little loving family.

Adoption was always front and center in our lives and something that we mutually agreed on even before we got married. The reason is simple: We have the capacity to absolutely and indiscriminately love a child, whether biological or not. It is a self-awareness we have always had and realize this is not common place.

If you choose us, we promise your child a warm, safe home in a wonderful neighborhood, great education, a welcoming community, and the opportunity to experience different cultures and travel around the world. Our children also get to be dual citizens (by virtue of their birth in the United States and Kruthika’s British nationality).

What we can promise you most of all, is that your child will be so immensely loved, cared for and treasured beyond all measure. Everything we do is in pursuit of our children’s well-being, future, and security. We do not present ourselves as entirely selfless. Our children in turn give us such immense joy, meaning and purpose.

About Kruthika by Vivek

One of my favorite things about Kruthika is her tremendous love for life. She has a vibrant and kind personality and has enormous reserves of empathy. People (including acquaintances) sense her ability to empathize and instinctively open up to her about their lives

She adores children and showers them with love, affection and amazing food and baked goods (chocolate fondant being an absolute favorite of mine in particular!) She absolutely loves doing crafts with children and also dancing with them!

About My Work

I am an England and Wales, New York and India qualified attorney. I practiced in London for several years as a corporate lawyer until we moved to San Francisco to start our family. I currently run a small non-profit that provides education for underprivileged children in India and invest in real estate. I’m able to support my family, feel like I am giving back to society and, most importantly, have the flexibility to be there for my children (current and future!).

About Vivek by Kruthika

People always tell me how sweet Vivek is! He exudes kindness, simplicity, and gentleness. Always a steady and unwavering presence in our lives, he is also the most hardworking person I know. His purpose in life is his family. He revels in our daughter’s rambunctious laughter and to him, there is no greater joy in life. Now wouldn’t you call that sweet!

About My Work

I am passionate about the environment and sustainability. My work with an Al Gore Fund after Business School fueled that passion and motivated our move to San Francisco, where I now run my own Environment, Social and Governance Fund. I am humbled to say that my fund was voted the best Sustainability Fund of 2021 by the United Nations.

Hobbies We Enjoy Together

We are obsessed with exploring all things old! Whether it involves driving 300 miles to see the oldest giant Sequoia or redwood tree or be it a vintage teacup at a remote flee market or involves traveling across the country to visit the oldest church. We are all in with our old and vintage souls!

We absolutely love our baked goods and make sure we have a steady stream of delicious treats flowing. As a family, we revel in the process of creating these treats together. We also love puzzling together and have worked on several 1000 piece puzzles through the pandemic.

The Place We Call Home

Our home is a single-family home in San Francisco with a backyard and two decks, providing plenty of outdoor space for young children to play and explore.

Our neighborhood is knows as the most family friendly in the city. We absolutely love our neighbors, and over the years they have grown to be as dear as family (we often celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthdays together). Community engagement is of great importance to us and we feel blessed to be able to live in a locale that affords us this opportunity.

Our Daughter, Mira (and her four-legged side kick, Sorbet!)

Mira (7 year old female human child) and Sorbet (4 year old male canine Labrador Retriever) are beyond delightful. They are the best of friends and siblings. Like a part human and fur ball fused together, they can often be found cuddled on a blanket with Mira reading him books and Sorbet slurping her face in return.

Thanks to our very friendly and excitable lab and super generous and kind daughter, we are a rather popular household amongst our little friends and neighbors who can’t wait to come and spend time with us!

Mira was born to be a big sister! Extremely maternal and nurturing for her little years, she is eager to welcome her sibling into our lives. She’s already made room in her closet for her sibling and insists on holding on to all her baby clothes and shoes. In addition, she keeps tabs on the adoption process and follows up with me everyday about it!

Our Family & Friends

Both Vivek and I are blessed with huge and loving families. Both of us have a sister each but are incredibly close to our extended family comprising of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and so on. We also have a whole rainbow of friends from around the world – from our travels, from our schools, parents from Mira’s school, neighbors and so on.

This is our village, our support infrastructure and refuge. We are so incredibly lucky to have them in our lives.
