Rebecca & Anthony

Rebecca and Anthony outside in their backyard

Dear Expectant Mother,

Hello! We are Rebecca & Anthony from California. We dream of having a family. We know that the decision that you are trying to make is difficult and you must do what is right for you and your child. If you were to decide to do us the honor of allowing us to raise your child we would bring as much laughter, love and zest to parenting as we have to our life together. We believe that the more people that love a child the better. We would raise them in the knowledge that they are loved not only by us, but by you. Thank you for taking for a moment to get to know us.

Our life is all about exploring! We made a life on the word YES, believing that experiences are more valuable than things.

Our dates were epic, walking from neighborhood to neighborhood, finding tiny restaurants, galleries and quirky magic shows. We believe that belly laughing with family and friends is enriching. We have been dreaming of parenthood though adoption and all of its new adventures and challenges. We support and encourage each others dreams and would give our all to do the same for our child.

Rebecca by Anthony
From nurturing potted plants growing in all corners of our home to snuggling puppies on the daily, taking care of living beings comes naturally to my wife. Rebecca is also magnetically drawn to the ocean, so much so we joke that she might be reincarnated as a sea otter in her next lifetime! I love the way her eyes light up when she is outside either exploring forested mountain trails or swimming with manta rays and if a child comes into our world I am certain she will nourish and enrich the child with all of her passions and interests.
Anthony by Rebecca
Anthony brings a colorful, quirky passion to everything he does. As a chef he creates delicious meals, wearing vibrant shorts and head wraps, blasting music from western and southern Africa, bringing people in and creating a community. I knew for sure I loved him when he made his 97-year-old grandmother break into laughter. Whenever children are around he can’t help but entertain them by wildly show off his dribbling skills at the playground. He will be a helpful, hands-on dad, sharing the responsibilities of raising a kind human being.
A Few of Our Hobbies
We built our love off of shared interests. Whether volunteering while traveling, creating a unique new dish, painting portraits of our dog Qurut or exploring tide pools for ocean life, all of our hobbies are best when done together. Our child will guide us to new interests just as we share ours with them.
Thoughts on Parenting
We want to bring a child into this amazing life that we have built and to show them the joy and diversity of life through travel, experiences and connection to family and friends. We want them to feel as though they are an integral part of family life, to feel that we all contribute to each others’ happiness and are helpful to the household. We want to instill curiosity and support them to be the person that they want to be, and to prepare them to navigate the ups and downs of life and teach them to be resilient and capable.
Our Home and Community
Our neighborhood is quiet, safe and diverse. It’s surrounded by parks, filled with hiking trails, jungle gyms and duck-filled marshes. Friendly neighbors wave hello while walking dogs and riding bikes. Everything is within walking distance, including the local school. Our house smells like home cooking inside and fresh flowers outside- there is always something in bloom. We dream of the days we can have a play set nestled underneath our big trees.
Meet Our Dog, Qurut
Our home wouldn’t be complete without our Qurut. Named after fermented yogurt balls, he is a scruffy, odd looking little dog. He has learned that children are snack machines, and will often throw a ball for him. He is patient, gentle and sweet with children.
Our Family and Friends
Anthony’s parents live right around the corner and we jokingly say that they are our best friends. They are always showing up at the house with homemade jams and sausages. They are endlessly helpful and we truly enjoy their company. They are doting grandparents to our nephews and cannot wait for us to have a family. Rebecca’s family all live in small town Ohio- our yearly summertime visits are filled with rollercoasters, bonfires and BBQ. They are loud and loving. In addition to our niece and nephews, our friend group is loaded with children and several of our friends are trying to start families of their own. Our child will have community.
