Dear Expectant Mother,
Hello, we are Alain and Michael, a happily married couple living in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are so excited to start the next chapter in our lives by building our family through adoption. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about us. We hope to have an opportunity to hear about your hopes for your child, and tell you about the wonderful life we will provide for him or her.
What we enjoy doing as a couple
- Spending time at home with our beautiful sweet dogs.
- Exploring the world by traveling to fun & exciting places.
- Exercising & weight-lifting.
- Playing video games.
- Watching our favorite shows, cartoons, & movies.
- Enjoying the outdoors by hiking, kayaking, & camping.
- Working on fun projects around the house.
- Enjoying all the great restaurants & events in our community.
- Spending time with family for gatherings & trips.
We met in 2014 through a mutual friend and got married in 2018 at our favorite beach. Ever since our first date, which was sushi and a walk to the beach, we have been inseparable. At home we can be found cuddling with our three goofy dogs, cooking healthy meals, and playing video games. We love taking day trips to San Francisco and live a very active lifestyle, working out at the gym daily.
About Michael, by Alain
I believe that the key to building a healthy, happy home and family is to be with people you respect, love, and cherish. Michael is my key to building a beautiful home and family. Michael consistently puts the happiness of others before his own. Through his consistent caring and effort, he creates an environment that feels safe and comforting.
Michael grew up in Berkeley, California. His mother and stepfather are both retired hospital engineers. They live close to our home and are elated to embark on this journey with us.
Michael’s sense of responsibility started young. As a teenager, he worked hard through school and quickly moved out on his own. He has worked for the last 13 years in a 911 emergency dispatch center, where he has risen through the ranks to supervisor and is now a manager.
His patience, strong work ethic, and empathy come through when talking to people in need and providing them the information and resources they need to get through difficult experiences.
I know Michael will be an excellent father. He is excited and anticipating the activities and trips we will share together with our child.
About Alain, by Michael
One of the first things about Alain that I fell in love with was his bright smile. He is a genuinely kind and caring person and is always putting the needs of others before himself. No matter what he may have going on, he makes the time to listen and show how much he cares.
Alain grew up with a brother and sister in an agricultural community in Southern California, the son of two Mexican immigrants. Alain helped his Mom run her flower shop (which she still has) and learned a lot about computers from his Dad, who is an engineer. They are an important part of our family and we see them regularly. Alain’s sister visits us often as well. Alain’s brother lives in New Jersey with his wife, and they have recently welcomed a baby boy into the family. Our child will be surrounded by lots of loving, extended family.
Alain went to college at University of California at Davis. He played the violin and wanted to be a veterinarian. His career goals shifted, and he eventually became a Police Officer, a job he takes great pride in. He loves working with members of the community and especially enjoys teaching new officers the proper ways to stay safe on the street and treat everyone with great respect. In his free time, Alain loves to play video games, read, and take our dogs on walks.
Seeing the way Alain interacts with children affirms my belief that he is going to be a fun, caring, and loving father. He is playful, full of energy, and loves being around kids. Alain has a heart of pure gold and I am so excited to see the kind of father he will be.
Home Sweet Home
We live in a 3-bedroom home in a diverse and vibrant city in the San Francisco Bay Area. We have a large child-friendly back yard with lots of beautiful trees and plants. Only two blocks from our home is a community swimming pool that we belong to, which also has a large grassy area with a playground. We live within one mile of an excellent elementary, middle, and high school. We are a stone’s throw away from wonderful parks, museums, and fun sources of entertainment and enrichment. Our home is in a quiet cul-de-sac, many of our neighbors are families with children or retired couples.
We plan to foster an environment of love, caring, understanding, patience, and safety for our child. We will ensure our child knows and feels he or she is loved. We will teach our child the importance of always being truthful, to do the right thing even when no one is looking, and to treat others with respect. We will also emphasize the importance of always being determined and never giving up on goals and dreams.
We strongly believe in the importance of offering our child an excellent education, along with being involved in our local community and the world we live in. We believe in providing a child with the opportunity to explore his or her interest, such as playing sports, learning a musical instrument or wherever their talents lead them. We understand the importance of letting a child have opportunities to just relax and be themselves. Lastly, we’re excited for the chance to travel around the state, country, and world with our child as a wonderful way to learn about and develop respect for other cultures.
